Real Estate work is quite distinct from residential conveyancing. Although in basic terms both areas deal with the buying and selling of land, Real Estate takes this into the commercial field. It involves the buying, selling and leasing of commercial property, together with the financing, taxation and development aspects of this activity.
HSRLaw’s Real Estate team acts for two broad types of client base:

Freehold and Leasehold acquisitions and disposals

Firstly, we advise clients who lease commercial property as landlord or tenant and who run their business from these premises and the commercial client who seeks to acquire or already owns freehold commercial premises to carry on their business from. As an established department the Real Estate team has an in depth knowledge and understanding of the legal, commercial and practical issues relevant in all aspects of this diverse and complicated sector. We are able to negotiate on the terms of a transaction on behalf of our client to obtain the best results at the best cost.

Real Estate investment, financing and taxation

Secondly, we advise clients whose very business is the buying and selling of Real Estate. We have a proven ability at handling large and often complex property acquisitions across a variety of legal jurisdictions. Working closely with other industry specialists, we are able to offer our clients the most suitable package for their investment, financing and taxation needs, be it in this country or abroad.

In all cases, we make time to understand our clients’ commercial needs and objectives
